The Atlantic Paramedic Academy was founded in 2001 by St. John Ambulance. In December of 2008, Medavie EMS Inc. became the new owner.

Under the New Brunswick Tuition Rebate, anyone, from anywhere in the world, who on or after January 1, 2005, pays tuition, graduates from an eligible post-secondary institution, lives and works in New Brunswick and pays New Brunswick personal income tax, will be eligible for a non-taxable rebate of 50% of their tuition costs with a maximum lifetime rebate of $20,000.

The Paramedic Association of Canada (PAC), formerly the Canadian Society of Ambulance Personnel (CSAP), is Canada’s only EMS organization of prehospital regulators. The association has been in existence since 1988 and is currently comprised of over 14,000 practitioners located in the following divisional chapters: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Yukon, and the Canadian Armed Forces…

The Paramedic Association of New Brunswick exists to protect the patients that we serve and to promote quality care through cooperative working relationships among organizations and stakeholders with EMS Interests. As such, all Prehospital emergency medical care professionals must register with the Association in order to practice in the Province of New Brunswick.

Since September 1, 2008, major changes have taken place in the health care system to improve the delivery of care to the New Brunswick population. The province’s eight regional health authorities have been amalgamated into two new health authorities, namely Regional Health Authority A (RHA A) and Regional Health Authority B (RHA B). The new Regional Health Authority A is the result of the amalgamation of Regional Health Authority 4 (NorthWest), the Restigouche Health Authority (Campbellton), the ACADIE-BATHURST Health Authority (Bathurst and Acadian Peninsula) and the Beauséjour Health Authority (Kent and Southeast).

Important changes are underway to improve health care delivery to the residents of New Brunswick. The existing 8 Regional Health Authorities will now become 2 – Regional Health Authority A (RHA A) and Regional Health Authority B (RHA B). This change will help to make sure that all New Brunswickers have access to quality healthcare. RHA B is a temporary title for this region and will eventually change when a new name has been decided upon.
