Regional Health Authority ASince September 1, 2008, major changes have taken place in the health care system to improve the delivery of care to the New Brunswick population. The province’s eight regional health authorities have been amalgamated into two new health authorities, namely Regional Health Authority A (RHA A) and Regional Health Authority B (RHA B). The new Regional Health Authority A is the result of the amalgamation of Regional Health Authority 4 (NorthWest), the Restigouche Health Authority (Campbellton), the ACADIE-BATHURST Health Authority (Bathurst and Acadian Peninsula) and the Beauséjour Health Authority (Kent and Southeast). Regional Health Authority BImportant changes are underway to improve health care delivery to the residents of New Brunswick. The existing 8 Regional Health Authorities will now become 2 – Regional Health Authority A (RHA A) and Regional Health Authority B (RHA B). This change will help to make sure that all New Brunswickers have access to quality healthcare. RHA B is a temporary title for this region and will eventually change when a new name has been decided upon. |
