New Brunswick EMS appoints new Chief Operating Officer

MONCTON – George McLellan, President and CEO of Medavie EMS, on behalf of the Medavie Blue Cross Group of companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Stephen to the position of Chief Operating Officer for New Brunswick EMS. Mr. Stephen is also appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer for Ambulance New Brunswick.

Alan was born in Nova Scotia and has family in New Brunswick. His career has been primarily with the Canadian Forces as an Officer, with most recent experience as General Manager Infrastructure and Emergency Services with the City of Sudbury (Operations), and as Director Operations at ORNGE in Ontario. Prior to this role, as Project Manager at SNC-Lavalin PAE, Alan was responsible for leading a joint venture project with the Canadian Forces Contractor Augmentation Program – CANCAP in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Alan graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science and has a Professional Logistics designation from Canadian Professional Logistics Institute as well as a Masters of Defence Studies from the Canadian Forces Command & Staff College.

“We are confident that Alan’s exemplary history of commitment to front line staff and patients along with his diverse background and experience will be a tremendous asset to NB EMS” states Mr. McLellan.

In his new position, Mr. Stephen will lead the NB EMSteam in providing enhanced pre-hospital health care to all of New Brunswick.

NB EMS is a subsidiary of Medavie EMS, a member of the Medavie Blue Cross group of companies who manages land and air ambulance services in the province of New Brunswick.
